This Week: The North Dakota State volleyball team will make its home debut on Tuesday, Sept. 9, hosting the University of North Dakota at the Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse at 7 p.m.
Tickets: Tickets for NDSU home volleyball matches are available in advance at the Fargodome ticket office, online at GoBison.com/tickets, or by telephone toll free at (888) 231-NDSU. General admission tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for youth ages 3-17. Game day tickets are sold at the Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse inside the south entrance.
Special Promotions: Tuesday's match has been declared a Gold Rush by NDSU. All Bison fans are encouraged to wear their gold attire to the BBF. The first 50 students inside the BBF after the doors open (6 p.m.) will receive a free drawstring bag. The 2014 NDSU Volleyball poster will be available, and the team will sign autographs following the match.
The Series
Tuesday will be the 92nd match between the North Dakota State and North Dakota volleyball teams dating back to 1966. NDSU leads the all-time series 77-14. UND swept the Bison last season to take a 3-1 advantage in Division I meetings.
The NDSU-UND volleyball series was tied 10-10 before a 62-match winning streak by NDSU from 1976 to 2001. The Bison swept 56 matches and won 173 of 180 sets during that span. UND broke that streak with a 3-0 win Oct. 5, 2002, in Grand Forks, but did not win in Fargo from Oct. 19, 1976, until Oct. 9, 2012.

About North Dakota: UND is 6-2 this season and will bring a five-match winning streak to Fargo on Tuesday evening. They posted two wins over Tulane and a pair of victories over South Dakota of The Summit League to sweep four home matches on Sept. 5-6.
UND went 22-11 overall and 17-3 in the Big Sky Conference to share the regular season title in 2013. Mark Pryor is in his first season as UND's head coach, joining the program in January after a four-year stint at Baylor.
All-Tournament: Junior outside hitter Jenni Fassbender was named to the All-Tournament Team for the Pepsi Panther Invitational hosted by Milwaukee on Aug. 29-30. Fassbender posted 39 kills in three matches, leading the Bison in each match.
Seventh in The Summit League: Junior Jenni Fassbender ranks seventh in The Summit League this season with 3.15 kills per set.
Quick Start: Freshman setter/right side Brianna Rasmusson ranked eighth in The Summit League with a .339 hitting percentage after the first weekend of action.
Near Triple-Double: Freshman Brianna Rasmusson nearly registered a triple-double in her third collegiate match, posting 21 assists, 15 kills and eight digs in a 3-2 win over Robert Morris on Aug. 30. Rasmusson hit .538 for the match.
New Experience: NDSU's win over Robert Morris on Aug. 30 was its first five-set match since Oct. 26, 2012, when the Bison fell 3-2 to Fort Wayne in Fargo.
Still Young: The Bison started three freshmen and three sophomores in the season opener vs. Miami (Ohio) on Aug. 29. Freshmen Jessica Jorgensen, Brianna Rasmusson and Mikaela Purnell earned the starting nod in their first collegiate match, while sophomores Emily Minnick, Monica Claxton and libero Emily Milligan also started for NDSU.
Big Numbers Back: After playing eight freshmen during the 2013 season, NDSU returns a large portion of its production from last year. The numbers returning include:
Unbalanced Schedule: After opening the season with 13 of their first 14 matches away from Fargo, the Bison will close the regular season with six of their final eight matches at home in the historic Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse.
Fabulous Freshman Seasons: With one of the most inexperienced teams in the nation in 2013, NDSU relied heavily on its freshman class. Here are some of the highlights:
Summit League Play: With the return of Oral Roberts to The Summit League for the 2014-15 academic year, all Summit League teams will now play 16 conference matches. The top six of the eight postseason-eligible teams will qualify for the league tournament.
Proud History: North Dakota State won four straight Summit League regular-season titles from 2008-11. NDSU won outright titles with a 16-0 record in 2008 and an 18-0 mark in 2009. The Bison have appeared in three of the last six NCAA Tournaments.

- Monica Claxton recorded 866 assists -- the most by an NDSU frosh since Mattie Johnson in 2006.
- Emily Miron had 239 kills and 2.69 kills per set last season. Both were the most by a Bison freshman since Chrissy Knuth in 2008.
