Although there is still about one year of construction remaining, some of the finishing touches inside the Sanford Health Athletic Complex are cause for excitement and a glimpse into the future of Bison athletics.
This month, the wooden floor of the Nodak Mutual Basketball Performance Center was unveiled to NDSU head coaches David Richman and Maren Walseth along with Jim Alexander, CEO of Nodak Mutual Insurance Company.
"The partnership between the two entities has helped bring this together and make it such a wonderful facility for not only the current athletes, but also the ability to recruit and bring the future athlete to NDSU," said Alexander.
The two-toned main court is enclosed with a dark green border and features NDSU's logo at center court and lettering on each baseline. The facility can also be divided into two separate, full-sized courts in the opposite direction.
Six basketball hoops and two scoreboards will be installed later this month, and work continues on finishing up the adjacent NDSU basketball locker rooms as the Bison prepare to move into their new home.
