Bison Roll to Exhibition Win over University of Mary, 91-58

FARGO, N.D. – Sophomore guard Paul Miller poured in 21 points to lead the North Dakota State men's basketball team to a 91-58 exhibition victory over the University of Mary on Wednesday night at Scheels Arena.
NDSU had 12 different players score in the game, led by Miller's 21-point effort. Sophomore A.J. Jacobson scored 17, and freshman forward Deng Geu was the only other Bison in double digits with 10 points.
Junior Carlin Dupree tallied nine points and three assists for NDSU. Junior forward Dexter Werner and freshman point guard Khy Kabellis both had seven points and five rebounds.
Jacobson scored his 17 points on only nine shots from the field, going 3-of-6 from three-point range and tacking on a perfect 6-of-6 at the free throw line.
NDSU never trailed in the contest, jumping out to a 16-2 lead in the first five minutes. The Bison pushed their lead to 20 at halftime on a buzzer-beating three-pointer by sophomore transfer Malik Clements that made the margin 48-28.
The Bison shot 53 percent from the floor and limited the Marauders to 33-percent shooting.
Werner, Geu, Kabellis and senior Kory Brown led NDSU with five rebounds apiece. Brown topped all players with four assists.
NDSU opens the regular season at defending Big West Conference champion UC Davis on Friday, Nov. 13.
