Bison Women Look to Snap Four Game Skid Wednesday at Oral Roberts
The North Dakota State women's basketball team (9-14, 5-6 Summit League) will look to snap a four game skid when it heads to Tulsa, Okla., to face Oral Roberts (12-12, 6-5 Summit League) in a midweek Summit League contest on Wednesday, Feb. 11, inside the Mabee Center.
The Series Against Oral Roberts
Wednesday's contest at ORU will mark the 13th meeting in the all-time series. The Bison trail Oral Roberts, 5-7, but defeated the Golden Eagles, 77-64, earlier this season on Jan. 2 in Fargo. The win snapped a five game losing streak against ORU. The Bison's last victory in Tulsa was a 64-55 triumph during the 2008-09 season.
About the Golden Eagles
The Golden Eagles enter Wednesday's game with an overall record of 12-12 and a Summit League mark of 6-5 after defeating Denver at home on Saturday, Feb. 7, 65-44. ORU is a perfect 5-0 at home in Summit League play and 10-1 overall in Tulsa.

The North Dakota State women's basketball team (9-14, 5-6 Summit League) outscored the Summit League-leading South Dakota Coyotes (19-5, 9-2 Summit League), 50-38, in the second half, but fell short of claiming victory, falling to USD on Sunday, Feb. 8, in the Katherine Burgum Classic, 83-79, at the Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse.
Brooke LeMar led three Bison in double figures with 27 points on 9-for-17 shooting.
Liz Keena tallied a career-high 22 points on a career-best 9-for-11 shooting. Keena, who was named the Katherine Burgum Classic MVP for the Bison, also established a new career-high for steals with a game-high five takeaways and led the Bison in rebounding, snagging seven boards.
Taylor Thunstedt rounded out the Bison in double figures, tallying 13 points, respectively.
North Dakota State shot 46 percent from the field for the game, going 28-for-61, but were just 5-for-18 from three-point range for 28 percent and 18-for-23 at the free-throw line for 78 percent.
The Bison outrebounded South Dakota in the game, 35-34.
South Dakota was paced by Nicole Seekamp, who was selected as the Katherine Burgum Classic MVP for the Coyotes, with 21 points on 7-for-13 shooting to go along with a game-high five assists.

LeMar dished out a game-and season-high eight assists and committed no turnovers to go along with her game-high 22 points. Thunstedt went 6-for-7 from the field and 3-for-4 from three in the game for her career-best 15. Junior forwards Holly Johnson and Marena Whittle also scored in double figures for North Dakota State, tallying 12 points each. Johnson controlled the glass in the contest for the Bison, pulling down a team-high eight boards, while Whittle added seven, respectively.

Preseason Honors
Senior guard Brooke LeMar, the reigning Summit League Newcomer of the Year and a second team all-league selection in 2013-14, was named to the preseason Summit League first team after averaging 15.1 points and 5.3 assists per game last season.
Head Coach Maren Walseth
Maren Walseth was named the 10th head women's basketball coach in NDSU history Monday, April 14, 2014.
Walseth joined the Bison after spending seven years as an assistant coach at Big Ten power Penn State University in State College, Pa., where she helped the Lady Lions to three Big Ten championships, four NCAA tournament appearances and two NCAA Sweet 16 appearances.
Prior to becoming an assistant at Penn State, Walseth spent three years as an assistant coach at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.
A native of Bloomington, Minn., Walseth was a two-time All-Big Ten selection and a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree as a forward at Penn State from 1997-2002. She was also a key member of the 2000 Lady Lion team that advanced to the Final Four and claimed the Big Ten conference championship. Walseth also was a member of the 1998 WNIT championship team. She graduated from Penn State in 2002 with a bachelor's degree in communications.
Walseth was drafted by the Sacramento Monarchs in the third-round of the 2001 WNBA draft and spent four years playing professionally. She played for the Washington Mystics of the WNBA in 2002 before spending two years playing professionally in France. Walseth also spent a season with the Women's National Basketball League's (NWBL) Colorado Chill.
Walseth's sister, Annika, played for NDSU during the 2007-08 season.

Preseason Honors
Senior guard Brooke LeMar, the reigning Summit League Newcomer of the Year and a second team all-league selection in 2013-14, was named to the preseason Summit League first team after averaging 15.1 points and 5.3 assists per game last season.
Head Coach Maren Walseth
Maren Walseth was named the 10th head women's basketball coach in NDSU history Monday, April 14, 2014.
Walseth joined the Bison after spending seven years as an assistant coach at Big Ten power Penn State University in State College, Pa., where she helped the Lady Lions to three Big Ten championships, four NCAA tournament appearances and two NCAA Sweet 16 appearances.
Prior to becoming an assistant at Penn State, Walseth spent three years as an assistant coach at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.
A native of Bloomington, Minn., Walseth was a two-time All-Big Ten selection and a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree as a forward at Penn State from 1997-2002. She was also a key member of the 2000 Lady Lion team that advanced to the Final Four and claimed the Big Ten conference championship. Walseth also was a member of the 1998 WNIT championship team. She graduated from Penn State in 2002 with a bachelor's degree in communications.
Walseth was drafted by the Sacramento Monarchs in the third-round of the 2001 WNBA draft and spent four years playing professionally. She played for the Washington Mystics of the WNBA in 2002 before spending two years playing professionally in France. Walseth also spent a season with the Women's National Basketball League's (NWBL) Colorado Chill.
Walseth's sister, Annika, played for NDSU during the 2007-08 season.
