Emegano Scores 34 in Oral Roberts’ 74-58 Victory over North Dakota State

TULSA, Okla. – Obi Emegano scored a career-high 34 points to carry the Oral Roberts men's basketball team to a 74-58 victory over North Dakota State in Summit League action on Thursday evening at the Mabee Center.
With the defeat, NDSU (20-9, 12-4 Summit) falls one-half game behind South Dakota State's 12-3 mark in the league standings. SDSU plays its final game at South Dakota on Saturday at 4 p.m.
Oral Roberts (16-13, 9-6 Summit) shot 54 percent for the game and 10-of-17 (59 percent) from three-point range. The Bison made 4-of-16 shots from beyond the arc.
Redshirt freshman A.J. Jacobson scored 15 points to lead the Bison. Lawrence Alexander added 11, and Paul Miller chipped in 10 for NDSU.
The Golden Eagles jumped out to a 23-6 lead midway through the first half and led 41-21 at halftime. The Bison shot 28 percent in the opening half.
NDSU cut its deficit to 13 points at 62-49 with 6:30 remaining, but ORU pushed the lead back to 18 in the next minute.
ORU sophomore guard Bobby Word made six treys and tied his career-high with 20 points.
NDSU will open the Summit League Tournament with a quarterfinal game on Saturday, Mar. 7, at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in Sioux Falls, S.D. Seeding and game times will be announced following the completion of the league regular season schedule this Saturday night.
