APRIL 2015 PHOTO GALLERY
With one year of construction complete at the Sanford Health Athletic Complex, the former Bison Sports Arena is barely recognizable inside.
Changes are most noticable inside the Scheels Center, where most of the arena floor has been removed. Steel and precast concrete are being placed for the north section of the upper concourse, which will eventually lead to a new club room on the east side and tie into the existing west balcony seating area.
On the main level, walls continue to be built for new basketball locker rooms in the southwest corner where the former administration offices were housed. Over the former swimming pool, the entrance to a new speed and agility training area is now in place, and floors are being prepped for a reinforced 6-inch floor under the new weight room expansion to the west.
Warmer outside temperatures have allowed crews to almost completely remove the old BSA's familiar white siding. Former exterior walls have been removed on the north side where restrooms and a concession stand have been added, and the south end where the new ticket office will be headquartered.
