Sanford Health Athletic Complex Construction Update: September 2015

SEPTEMBER 2015 PHOTO GALLERY

The fourth week of fall semester classes is wrapping up at North Dakota State University, and the cooler weather and shorter days have construction workers at the Sanford Health Athletic Complex buttoning up the outside of the structure in anticipation of a busy winter inside.

After being exposed most of the summer, the building is now enclosed on the south, west and north sides with new "smoke gray" siding panels that are rectangular in shape - a much different look from the white siding and brown lines that ran from top to bottom of the old Bison Sports Arena.

Work has continued on the east expansion with additional steel bringing the new concourse from a new southeast corner stair tower to the northeast, where masons are beginning to erect a matching stair tower to tie the new addition into the existing structure.

A new parking lot has been finished west of the building, and the west half of the south parking lot has also been completed.  After moving construction materials and equipment from one side to the other, demolition started on the east half of the south parking lot.

Windows are in place on the south lobby and administration offices, and also on the second floor west expansion, where offices for several head coaches will overlook Dacotah Field.

Check out the photo gallery and video above, and stay tuned to GoBison.com for monthly updates from the construction site.
