NDSU Stops Omaha 3-0 for Summit League Win

FARGO, N.D.-- Hadley Steffen had 10 kills and 11 digs to record her team-leading eighth 'double-double' as North Dakota State stopped Omaha 3-0 (25-14, 25-14, 27-25) in a Summit League volleyball match played Saturday, Oct. 29, before 588 spectators in the Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse. The Bison and UNO split the season series.
North Dakota State (7-4 SL, 9-16 overall) is scheduled to host league-leading South Dakota (10-1 SL, 21-4) at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1. USD defeated Western Illinois 3-0 on Saturday night.
Steffen, a 5-foot-10 senior from Grand Forks, N.D., was the lone player in double-figure kills for the Bison. NDSU outhit the Mavericks .193 to .121 as five players had five or more kills. Emily Miron had nine, Emily Minnick claimed seven kills and three blocks, and Jessica Jorgensen had six. Brianna Rasmusson finished with 31 assists and 11 digs for her eighth 'double-double' of the season.
Defensively, Mikaela Purnell came up with a match-high 28 digs. Purnell finished the week with 72 digs for an average of 8.00 digs per set. She is averaging 5.61 digs per set with double-figure digs in 14 of 15 matches played this season.
Morgan Morgan served up a career-high four aces. The Bison finished six service aces overall.
Chloe Dousette paced Omaha (2-10 SL, 5-21) with six kills. Hannah Angeli recorded 23 assists and 11 digs. Olivia Spanton topped the Mavericks with 17 digs.
