Rodriguez Tech Fall Pushes NDSU Past Indiana 18-17, Bison Down SIUE 25-13

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. — North Dakota State University 125-pounder Josh Rodriguez recorded his fifth tech fall of the season and it proved to be the deciding factor in the Bison 18-17 win on tie-breaker criteria over Indiana University in the first of two duals Sunday, Dec. 4. Andrew Fogarty and Tyler McNutt both recorded pins as NDSU defeated host Southern Illinois-Edwardsville 25-13 in the second.

North Dakota State improved to 4-1 overall. The Bison will face the University of Maryland and George Mason University on Friday, Dec. 9, in Fairfax, Va.

However, the Hoosiers (2-2) rallied with a pair of wins including a major decision over the next two weight classes for a 17-14 lead.

In making his first dual start of the season, NDSU's 149 Kyle Gliva posted a 5-2 decision over Chris Perez to tie the match at 17-all sending things to the tie-breaker criteria.
