FARGO, N.D. – North Dakota State University head football coach Chris Klieman today announced the addition of Bryan Shepherd as defensive assistant and Kody Morgan in the offensive quality control position for the 2016 season.
Additionally, director of football operations and equipment services Brian Gordon has hired former student manager Taylor Parker as athletic equipment intern. Parker will assist with football equipment and have oversight of equipment services for the Bison baseball program.
Shepherd was a defensive back for NDSU's first three national championship teams from 2011 to 2013 and signed with the Washington Redskins in 2014 as an undrafted rookie free agent. A native of Olathe, Kan., he spent two years at Nebraska-Omaha before transferring to NDSU, where he graduated in August 2015 with a degree in university studies.
Morgan joins the Bison after two seasons at Wisconsin-Stout, where he was the defensive backs coach in 2014 and the defensive line coach in 2015. He was a four-year starting cornerback from 2008 to 2011 at Wisconsin-Stevens Point, where he earned a degree in math education. Morgan was a student assistant (cornerbacks) at UW-Stevens Point in 2012 and a graduate assistant (defensive ends) at the University of Mary in 2013.
Parker was a student manager for each of NDSU's five national championship football teams and graduated from NDSU with a management degree in December 2015. He is a product of Fargo South High School, where he was a first team all-state linebacker for the 2010 North Dakota Class 3A state championship team.
