OMAHA, Neb. – The North Dakota State University baseball team claimed a 1-0 shutout victory over the Omaha Mavericks in the second game of a three-game Summit League series Saturday afternoon, April 1, at Isaacson Field at Seymour Smith Park in Omaha, Nebraska.
With the win, NDSU improves to 10-15 on the season and 3-5 in Summit League action while Omaha dips to 6-20 overall and 4-4 in league play.

Reed Pfannenstein (2-4) earned the win on the mound after tossing 7 2/3 scoreless innings with one strikeout and one walk. Bison reliever
Kevin Folman tallied his team-best third save of the season after throwing 1 1/3 scoreless innings.
Senior catcher
Danny Palmiscno plated the lone run of the game on an RBI ground out in the top of the fourth inning.
Logan Busch worked a walk to leadoff the frame before
Bennett Hostetler reached base on an Omaha throwing error, moving Busch to second.
Carter Thompson advanced Busch to third with sacrifice bunt before Palmiscno brought him home with his ground out to third.
Junior infielder
Mason Pierzchalski collected two hits to lead North Dakota State at the plate.
Outfielder Adam Caniglia posted a pair of hits to pace the Mavs in the batter's box.
Omaha starter Sam Murphy (1-4) suffered the loss after giving up one unearned run on five hits with three strikeouts and three walks in six innings pitched.
North Dakota State and Omaha are slated to conclude their three-game series with a single game at noon Sunday, April 2, at Isaacson Field at Seymour Smith Park.
