The North Dakota State women's basketball team is slated to hit the road to Wisconsin on Saturday, Nov. 17 for a game against the Wisconsin Badgers. This will be the first road game of the year for the Bison. Tipoff is set for 12 p.m. at the Kohl Center in Madison, Wis.
Wisconsin Series History
Saturday will be the first meeting between the Bison and Badgers. NDSU is 1-7 all-time against the Big Ten Conference. The Bison last faced a Big Ten team in 2011, a 68-55 loss to Northwestern in Las Vegas at the BTI Invitational. The victory over a Big Ten team came on Dec. 22, 2006, as the Bison beat Minnesota 62-48 at the Bison Sports Arena.

The North Dakota State women's basketball team hit six free throws in the final :08 Sunday afternoon, as the Bison beat New Hampshire 56-51 at the Scheels Center inside the Sanford Health Athletic Complex.
NDSU held an early 4-2 lead on back-to-back layups by Emily Dietz, but the Wildcats answered with an 8-0 run in a 2:13 span to take a 10-4 lead with 4:52 to play in the opening quarter. The Bison responded with a 10-0 run over a 3:59 span, taking a 14-10 lead on a layup by Danneka Voegeli with 8:17 left in the second quarter. This time it was New Hampshire that answered with a 10-0 run, as an and-one by Kari Brekke with 5:33 left in the half gave the Wildcats a 20-14 lead. New Hampshire took a 27-23 lead to the locker rooms at halftime.
Neither team hit a 3-pointer in the first half, but that quickly changed in the second half as Michelle Gaislerova went on a 9-4 run of her own to start the second half with three 3-pointers to give the Bison a 32-31 lead with 5:51 left in the quarter. The Wildcats responded with six-straight points, but the Bison scored eight of the final 12 points of the quarter in a 3:35 span. The Wildcats led 41-40 going into the fourth quarter.
Brekke tied the game on a free throw with 7:05 to play at 42-42 before the Bison took the lead for good. Voegeli hit a layup with 6:53 to play, as the Bison never trailed again after the bucket. The layup was the start of six-straight points by Voegeli. The Wildcats cut the lead to one with 3:02 to play, but neither team scored again until Rylee Nudell hit a pair of free throws with :08 to play. The Bison hit six free throws in the final :08 to seal the win.
The Bison were 18-of-53 (34%) from the field and 4-of-14 (28.6%) from downtown. New Hampshire was 17-of-51 (33.3%) from the floor and 0-for-5 from beyond the arc. The Bison were 16-of-25 (64%) at the free throw line, while the Wildcats were 17-of-22 (77.3%) at the charity stripe. The Bison had a 43-32 advantage on the glass, while the NDSU bench outscored New Hampshire's 18-0.
Voegeli and Gaislerova led four Bison in double figures with 16 points apiece, a career-high for Voegeli. Dietz and Nudell each finished with 10 points. Ashley Storey led the Wildcats with 16 points. Voegeli had a game-high 11 rebounds for the first Bison double-double of the season. Marina Fernandez tied a career-high with seven rebounds, while Nudell grabbed six boards. Tyrah Spencer had a career-high three blocks, while Fernandez tied a career-high with two. Nudell tied a career-high with five assists, while Spencer had four. Fernandez tied a career-high with two steals.
Mixing It Up
Nine different players have seen action in three games, with each playing at least four minutes. The Bison have tallied 19 different lineups with the nine players. In 24:30 of play together, the starting lineup of Rylee Nudell, Michelle Gaislerova, Tyrah Spencer, Marina Fernandez and Emily Dietz has outscored the opponent 31-26.
Starters Going Deep
The Bison have hit 14 3-pointers in the first three games. Of those 14, 13 have come from the starting lineup. Cirkeline Rimdal has the lone long ball from the bench. Michelle Gaislerova leads the team with eight 3-pointers.

NDSU will spend the Thanksgiving holiday in California preparing for a pair of games at the Tiger Turkey Tip Off in Stockton, Calif. The Bison will face host Pacific on Friday, Nov. 23 before taking on North Texas the next day.

- Playing three games on the opening week, the Bison went 2-1 with wins to start and end the week.
- In the final game of the week, NDSU had four players score in double figures in the victory over New Hampshire. It was the second game this year that four players have scored in double figures.
- With just two players playing off the bench, NDSU held an 18-0 advantage in bench points in the win over New Hampshire.
- NDSU held New Hampshire without a 3-point basket on five attempts. It was the first time a Bison opponent hadn't hit a long ball since Western Michigan went 0-for-9 on Nov. 30, 2016.
- The Bison improved to 33-18 all-time in season openers with the win over Mayville State on Tuesday. It was the third-straight win in an opener, while they have won seven of their last eight opening games.
- Four players scored in double figures for the Bison in the season-opening win over Mayville State. Michelle Gaislerova and Tyrah Spencer led NDSU with 13 points apiece, a career-high for Spencer.
- Tyrah Spencer connected on both of her 3-point attempts in the opener. Spencer attempted just nine long balls all of last season.
- The Bison grabbed 11 offensive rebounds in the win over Mayville State. NDSU scored 10 second chance points, while limiting the Comets to just three second chance points.
- NDSU had lockdown defense to close the third quarter and start the fourth quarter against the Comets. In over a nine minute span, the Bison held the Comets without a field goal and went on a 13-2 run.
Scouting Wisconsin
- The Badgers are currently 2-0 after picking up wins over Winthrop (76-41) and Milwaukee (68-57) to open the season.
- Senior Marsha Howard recorded her seventh career double-double, and second of the season, with 16 points and 10 rebounds against Milwaukee. Howard ranks 10th in the nation in double-doubles.
- It is the first 2-0 start to a season since 2013-14 for the Badgers.
- The Badgers held the Panthers to just four points in the second quarter. It was the second fewest points given up in a quarter for the Badgers since the change in formats to four quarters.
- With 58.5 rebounds per game, Wisconsin ranks third in the nation. Radford leads the country with 67 boards per game.
