Bison Throttle Towson in Bahamas Finale, 76-51

NASSAU, Bahamas – The North Dakota State men's basketball team cruised to a 76-51 victory over Towson in the consolation round of the Islands of the Bahamas Showcase on Sunday.
NDSU improved its record to 2-3 with the win. The Bison raced out to a 17-8 lead in the game's first seven minutes and led for 38 of 40 minutes in the contest.
Redshirt freshman Tyree Eady made his first career start and scored a season-high 14 points. Junior forward Deng Geu added 13 points on 6-of-7 shooting, and junior Tyson Ward scored 11 for NDSU.
Bison sophomore Rocky Kreuser grabbed double-digit rebounds for the first time in his career, posting 10 rebounds to go with 8 points. Junior guard Vinnie Shahid finished with eight assists, seven rebounds, five points, three steals and no turnovers.
With the score at 20-19, the Bison used a 9-0 run capped by a three-point play from Geu to expand the margin. NDSU led 36-23 at halftime.
Towson pulled within 11 at 42-31 just over four minutes into the second half, but NDSU responded with an 18-0 run to put the game out of reach. Jared Samuelson, Jordan Horn, Shahid and Jarius Cook all hit threes in the 18-0 run for the Bison.
The Bison led by as many as 30 points in the second half. NDSU shot 46 percent for the game and made 11 three-pointers.
NDSU plays next at East Tennessee State on Saturday, Nov. 24.
