Zoe Stavrou went 2-for-3 with a double and RBI as North Dakota State defeated BYU 4-2, while host and No. 8-ranked Arizona State scored early in 10-2 win over NDSU in the ASU Invitational on Friday, March 30, at Farrington Stadium.

NDSU (19-11) is scheduled to play BYU (17-15) at 1 p.m. CT and No. 8 Arizona State (28-4) at 3:30 p.m. CT Saturday, March 31, at the Arizona State Invitational. BYU and the Sun Devils played the late game Friday.

North Dakota State struck first against BYU when
Bre Beatty laced a RBI double to right center to score
Madyson Camacho in the first. The Bison extended the lead to 2-0 in the bottom of the second when
Vanessa Anderson led off with a double and Stavrou followed with run-scoring single.

BYU cut the lead in half when Libby Sugg hit first of two solo home runs with two outs in the fourth. Sugg hit second long ball in the top of the sixth. She has seven this season.

NDSU answered in the bottom of the fifth when Camacho scored her second run of the game on
Maddie Hansen's two-out RBI single to make it 3-1. The Bison added an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth on
Kalyssa Koehn's sacrifice fly.

Jacquelyn Sertic (15-6) limited the Cougars to three hits to record the win. Sertic struck out five, hit two batters and issued now walks.

Kerisa Viramontes (7-5) took the loss for BYU. Viramontes allowed seven hits, struck out four and walked two.

Arizona State combined five hits and took advantage of three North Dakota State errors to build an 8-2 lead after two innings.

Jade Gortarez went 3-for-3 including a home run for the Sun Devils, while Skylar McCarty had a pair of hits and two RBI and Danielle Gibson added two hits. Nichole Chilson hit a pair of sacrifice flies and finished with three RBI.

Breanna Macha (10-2) struck out six, allowed five hits and walked two to record the win. Macha allowed only two hits over the final three innings.

The Bison jumped out to a 1-0 lead when Camacho and
Stephanie Soriano led off the game with singles. Hansen picked up her second RBI on the day, knocking in Camacho. Koehn drove in NDSU's second run with a ground out in the second.

KK Leddy (3-4) took the loss for the Bison. Leddy allowed five earned runs, struck out three and walked one.
