FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State University athletic department and Hornbacher's today announced a new three-year partnership through the 2020-21 academic year.
Hornbacher's will assume the exclusive designation of "Official Grocer" and "Official Fueling Station Provider" of North Dakota State University Athletics. Additionally, as part of its comprehensive corporate agreement, Hornbacher's will receive significant visibility via NDSU Athletics print, radio and digital platforms throughout the year.
"Hornbacher's is a long-standing business in our community and the exact type of corporate partner we were looking for to take our fueling station to the next level," said
Troy Goergen, NDSU senior associate athletic director. "Hornbacher's products and expertise will be an asset to our fueling station and student-athletes who use it."
Hornbacher's President Matt Leiseth added, "We are proud to begin this relationship with North Dakota State University Athletics. The Bison athletes and the Hornbacher's team both strive to be best-in-class and give back to the community."
Hornbacher's first opened in 1951 and operates eight stores in the Fargo-Moorhead and Grand Forks communities. Hornbacher's will open its newest store in the Gateway West development in West Fargo early next year. Hornbacher's takes pride in serving its communities through charitable, educational, and nonprofit events.
NDSU has a storied history of athletic success including 26 team national championships since 1965 in football, women's basketball, wrestling, softball, men's cross country and women's indoor track and field. In 10 years of NCAA Division I competition, the Bison have won six football national championships, made three NCAA men's basketball tournaments, nine softball regionals and one super regional, three NCAA women's volleyball postseason appearances, NCAA regionals in baseball, women's soccer, and men's and women's golf while producing several All-Americans in track and field, cross country and wrestling.
