MUNCIE, Ind. – Karlie Taylor had a match-high 15 kills to lead a group of three players in double figures as Northern Iowa defeated North Dakota State 3-0 (25-16, 25-16, 25-15) to close out Ball State's Active Ankle Classic played Saturday, Sept. 8, in Worthen Arena.

NDSU (2-8) is scheduled to play at North Carolina (3-3) at 5:30 p.m. Central Time on Friday, Sept. 14. The Bison then play at Duke (6-2) at 3 p.m. CT Saturday, Sept. 15

NDSU made things interesting, particularly in the second set cutting the deficit to two points on several occasions. Allie Mauch led the Bison with seven kills, while Kalli Hegerle charted 20 assists, five kills, three blocks and an ace. Kaylee Hanger came up with a team-high 13 digs and five assists. Hanger was named to the all-tournament team after averaging 3.60 digs per set over three matches and 10 sets.

UNI, 5-4 overall and ranked No. 7 in the mid-major poll, connected for a .277 hitting percentage as Piper Thomas had 14 kills and hit .393 and Jaydlin Seehase added 13 kills and hit .286.

Rachel Kopp distributed 44 assists and added nine digs for the Panthers, while Kendyl Sorge logged a match-high 15 digs and Taylor Hedges followed with 10.
