TCU Pulls Away for 3-0 Win over NDSU

FORTH WORTH, Texas – Elan McCall collected 10 kills, 10 digs and four blocks to lead TCU to a 3-0 (25-18, 25-16, 25-16) win over North Dakota State University in a non-conference match played Friday, Sept. 14, before 603 spectators at The Rickel inside the University Recreation Center.
Both North Dakota State and TCU lost matches to Hurricane Florence. The Bison were headed to North Carolina and Duke this weekend, while the Horned Frogs were traveling to Coastal Carolina.
NDSU (2-9) is scheduled to open Summit League play at home against South Dakota (6-3) at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21.
North Dakota State stayed close early in each set led by Allie Mauch, who had 10 kills and hit .250. Alexis Bachmeier followed with seven kills and a team-high 12 digs. Kalli Hegerle finished with 23 assists, seven digs and a pair of blocks. Kaylee Hanger had 11 digs and Emily Halverson added three blocks.
TCU (8-3) pulled away with McCall and Anna Walsh, who put together a match-high 12 kills and hit .400. Tori Dilfer claimed 33 assists. The Horned Frogs outhit the Bison .238 to .034 and held a 7 to 5.5 edge in team blocks. Berklie Baker had a match-high 14 digs.
