NDSU Volleyball Blanks Idaho State at Boise State Classic, 3-0

BOISE, Idaho – The North Dakota State volleyball team bounced back with a 3-0 win over Idaho State on Friday afternoon at the Boise State Classic at ExtraMile Arena.
Lauren Jansen logged her third double-double in four matches with a match-high 15 kills and 10 digs. Sarah Pfiffner handed out a match-best 34 assists with nine digs and Rya Borer totaled a season-best 17 digs with a career-best four aces.
The Bison (3-1) grabbed momentum early with three straight points to build a 13-8 advantage after a block from Kendall Worwa and Pfiffner. After Idaho State (3-2) fought its way back to lock the opening frame, 15-15, NDSU picked up back-to-back kills from Arianna Blohm and Jansen to regain a 17-15 lead. The Bison held off the Bengals the rest of the way to win the set, 25-22.
NDSU carried the energy into the second frame running out to a 15-10 lead following a solo block from Blohm. The Bengals then took advantage of attack errors to lock the set, 18-18. However, the Bison answered with a key 3-0 run to steal the 21-18 edge after a kill from Jansen. NDSU closed out the second set, 25-20.
NDSU started to put the match away in the third set running out to a 10-2 lead following a service ace from Borer. The Bison then doubled up the Bengals, 14-7, after block from Pfiffner and Worwa. NDSU went on to win the set, 25-18, and the match, 3-0.
NDSU will wrap up play at the Boise State Classic against UNLV tomorrow. First serve is set for 12:00 p.m. CT
