Omaha Shoots Past Bison, 90-77

OMAHA, Neb. – Mitch Hahn scored 20 points and Matt Pile added a career-high 19 to lead the Omaha men's basketball team by North Dakota State on Wednesday evening at Baxter Arena.
Omaha improved to 8-8 overall and 2-1 in Summit League play. The Bison fell to 6-10 overall and 1-2 in the league.
Junior Tyson Ward led NDSU with 17 points and 8 rebounds. Sophomore Rocky Kreuser and junior Deng Geu both scored 14 points, and redshirt freshman Tyree Eady added 13 for the Bison.
NDSU shot 47 percent for the game and made 13-of-26 (50 percent) from three-point range, but the Bison were outshot by Omaha. The Mavericks made 56 percent overall and 46 percent from beyond the arc.
NDSU led 25-24 with just over eight minutes left in the first half, but Omaha exploded for a 12-0 run over the next three-plus minutes to go ahead 36-25.
Leading 41-32 at halftime, the Mavericks used a 19-2 run to put the game out of reach in the second half.
Bison freshman Sam Griesel returned from a knee injury, playing for the first time since Nov. 17 vs. Incarnate Word in the Bahamas.
Five different NDSU players made multiple three-pointers in the game, with Eady and Vinnie Shahid both draining three.
The Bison host Dickinson State on Sunday at 2 p.m. for the final non-conference game of the season.
