This is the first time in program history that the Coyotes have won the regular season title outright and enter the championship as the No. 1 seed. South Dakota (27-1, 16-0 SL) finished the regular season undefeated and recorded the program's best league winning percentage since they joined The Summit League.

As the top seed, South Dakota earned a first-round bye and will not play until 3 p.m. MT Saturday, Nov. 23 to face the winner of the No. 4 Omaha (17-13, 10-6 SL) and the No. 5 North Dakota State (13-15, 8-8 SL) match. The Mavericks and the Bison will begin the championship on Friday, Nov. 22, at 3 p.m. MT. The Mavericks are making their second-straight and fourth-ever appearance in the championship. The Bison enter their seventh-straight appearance at the championship and 12th overall.

Denver (21-7, 13-3 SL) will be joining South Dakota with a first-round bye after clinching the No. 2 seed. The Pioneers will make their seventh-consecutive run in the championship and will take the court for the first time on Saturday at 6 p.m. MT.
