ST. LOUIS - The Missouri Valley Football Conference recognized some of its all-time greats in accordance with the league's 35th anniversary and College Football's 150th anniversary. Following a month-long online voting campaign, the conference revealed its five best players at 10 different positions in November.

Quarterbacks
- Taryn Christion, South Dakota State, 2015-18 – all-time MVFC record holder for career passing yards (11,535) and career TD passes (104). Led SDSU to back-to-back FCS Championship semifinal appearances.
- Brock Jensen, North Dakota State, 2010-13 – totaled 48 career wins at North Dakota State and won three-straight FCS titles.  Closed his career with 24-straight wins, including three against FBS schools.
- Easton Stick, North Dakota State, 2015-18 – the all-time winningest QB in FCS history with a 49-3 record as a four-year starter at NDSU. Holds the MVFC record with 2,523 rushing yards by a QB.
- Kurt Warner, UNI, 1990-93 – NFL Hall of Fame inductee and 1999 Super Bowl Champion with the St. Louis Rams; four-time NFL Pro Bowl selection and league Offensive MVP in 1993.
- Carson Wentz, North Dakota State, 2012-15 – Highest drafted player in Valley Football history, going No. 2 in the 2016 NFL draft. Was part of 5-straight NDSU national championship teams.
Running Backs
- Shakir Bell, Indiana State, 2010-13 – runner-up finisher in the Walter Payton Award voting in 2011, two-time All-American, holds league single-game rushing mark (349 yards vs. Drake in 2012). Had 4,214 career rushing yards.
- Marshaun Coprich, Illinois State, 2012-15 – 3rd in the Walter Payton Award voting in 2015, ranks second in MVFC history with 5,195 career rushing yards and second with 59 career rushing TDs. Helped ISU to the 2014 FCS title game.
- Herb Donaldson, Western Illinois, 2005-08 – ranks third in MVFC history with 4,746 career rushing yards. Scored 50 rushing TDs and twice eclipsed 300 yards in a game (328 vs. Indiana State in 2006 and 314 vs. Missouri State in 2007).
- David Johnson, UNI, 2010-14 – ranks 5th in MVFC history with 4,650 career rushing yards and is second in league history with 64 total touchdowns. Highest drafted RB in league history (3rd round by the Arizona Cardinals).
- Zach Zenner, South Dakota State, 2011-14 – holds league all-time records with 69 total touchdowns, 1,095 rushing attempts, 6,548 rushing yards and 61 rushing touchdowns. Eclipsed 100 yards in a game 33 times, also a league record.
Wide Receivers
- Lance Lenoir Jr., Western Illinois, 2013-16 – ranks 3rd on the MVFC list with 3,796 career receiving yards and is second with 273 receptions. Was a two-time first-team all-MVFC selection at wide receiver.
- Laurent Robinson, Illinois State, 2003-06 – had 3,007 receiving yards for the Redbirds and 29 TD receptions. One of only three MVFC receivers to earn league Offensive Player of the Year honors, doing so in 2005.
- Darrius Shepherd, North Dakota State, 2015-18 – had 2,841 receiving yards and 188 receptions, and both rank 2nd all-time at NDSU … Most Outstanding Player of the 2019 NCAA Division I Football Championship Game win over Eastern Washington.
- Dedric Ward, UNI, 1993-96 .. two-time MVFC Offensive Player of the Year .. ranks second all-time in MVFC history with 3,876 receiving yards on just 176 catches (22.0 yards per catch average for his career) … second all-time in MVFC history with 41 career TD receptions.
- Jake Wieneke, South Dakota State, 2014-17 – holds MVFC career records with 288 receptions, 5,157 receiving yards and 59 receiving TDs. One of just two players in league history (DB Ty Talton of UNI is the other) to earn first-team all-league honors four times.
Tight Ends
- Dallas Goedert, South Dakota State, 2014-17 – the MVFC career record holder (for a tight end) with 2,988 receiving yards, also holds the single-season record for a TE with 1,293 receiving yards in 2016. He currently plays for the Philadelphia Eagles.
- Clay Harbor, Missouri State, 2006-09 – was a three-time first-team all-MVFC selection for the Bears. He was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the fourth round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He has also been a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars, New England Patriots, Detroit Lions and New Orleans Saints.
- James O'Shaugnessy, Illinois State, 2010-14 --Â He was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft and has been a member of the Chiefs, Patriots and Jaguars.
- MyCole Pruitt, Southern Illinois, 2011-14 – holds the MVFC career record (for a tight end) with 221 career catches. Ranks second all-time in MVFC history with 2,601 receiving yards by a tight end. He is currently with the Tennessee Titans.
- Brad St. Louis, Missouri State, 1996-99 – was a three-time first-team all-MVFC selection for the Bears.  He was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the seventh round of the 2000 NFL Draft and played there from 2000-09.

Offensive Linemen
- Chris Elkins, Youngstown State, 2010-13 – three-time all-MVFC, including first-team honors in 2012 & 2013 .. two-time All-American .. started final 38 games of his career including every game as a sophomore, junior and senior
- Joe Haeg, North Dakota State, 2012-15 – two-time first-team all-MVFC (2014, 2015) .. two-time first-team All-American in 2014 and 2015. He's in his fourth season with the Indianapolis Colts, where he has started 35 career games for the Colts at four different positions.
- Zack W. Johnson, North Dakota State, 2012-16 – three-time all-MVFC, including two-time first-team honors .. first-team All-American in 2016 and also received All-America recognition in 2015. He played in the 2017 East-West Shrine Game.
- Brad Meester, UNI, 1996-99 – four-time all-league, including first-team honors in 1998 and 1999. All-American in 1998 and 1999. He's the highest draft pick of any offensive lineman in league history, going in the 2nd round of the 2000 NFL Draft. He played 13 seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars, playing in 209 games and starting every one of them.
- Billy Turner, North Dakota State, 2010-13 --Â Started in 56 of 57 games played in career ... Two-time consensus All-American and part of three straight NCAA Division I FCS national championship teams ... Invited to the 2014 Reese's Senior Bowl and 2014 NFL Combine ... Selected by the Miami Dolphins 67th overall in the 2014 NFL Draft with the third pick in the third round
- Frank Winters, Western Illinois, 1985-86 – first-team all-league in 1986. First-team All-American in 1986 .. NFL Pro Bowl selection with the Green Bay Packers in 1996 and Super Bowl XXXI champion. He is in the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame.
Defensive Linemen
- Kyle Emanuel, North Dakota State, 2011-14 – earned the Buck Buchanan Award and was a consensus first-team All-American in 2014 while earning all-league honors three-straight years, including first-team honors in 2014 .. NDSU career record holder with 69 tackles for loss and tied the career mark of 41 sacks
- John Jurkovic, Eastern Illinois, 1986-89 --Â one of two league defensive lineman to earn the league's Defensive Player of the Year honor twice (1988, 1989) .. he played professionally with the NFLs Green Bay Packers, Jacksonville Jaguars and Cleveland Browns.
- Derek Rivers, Youngstown State, 2013-16 .. was drafted by the New England Patriots in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He recorded a school-record 41 sacks and helped YSU to the FCS Championship game in 2016. He was a three-time first-team all-MVFC selection.
- James Ruffin, UNI, 2006-09 – one of two league defensive lineman to earn the league's Defensive Player of the Year honor twice (2008, 2009) .. Ruffin was the Arena Football League Defensive Lineman of the Year in 2014 (with the Spokane Shock), and he has also been on practice squad rosters with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Cincinnati Bengals.
- Xavier Williams, UNI, 2011-14 – two-time all-MVFC selection in 2013 and 2014 and represented the league and UNI in the East-West Shrine Game following his senior season. He's currently with the Kansas Chiefs after playing his first three seasons with the Arizona Cardinals.
Linebackers
- Nick DeLuca, North Dakota State, 2013-17 – Was a two-time nominee for the Butkus Award … Two-time all-conference linebacker who earned All-America first team honors as a fifth-year senior in 2017...Part of five MVFC championships and four NCAA Division I FCS national titles as the Bison went 69-6 over his five years in the program... Finished eighth in NDSU history for total tackles (329) and was third in solo tackles (156).
- Boomer Grigsby, Illinois State, 2001-04 – Grigsby is the only player in the history of the league to earn the league's Defensive Player of the Year honor three times (2002, 2003, 2004). He was a three-time All-American and played in the NFL with the Kansas City Chiefs, the Miami Dolphins and Houston Texans. In 44 games (40 starts), at Illinois State, Grigsby recorded an FCS record 580 tackles to go along with 41.5 tackles for a loss.
- Edgerton Hartwell, Western Illinois, 1998-00 – Hartwell was a three-time all-league choice, earning first-team honors in 1999 and 2000. He was drafted in the fourth round by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2001 NFL Draft and also played with the Atlanta Falcons, Cincinnati Bengals and Oakland Raiders. He was a two-time MVFC Defensive Player of the Year and won the Buck Buchanan Award in 2000.
- Bryce Paup, UNI, 1986-89 – a current assistant coach at UNI, Paup was a first-team all-league pick in 1989 and played in the NFL with the Packers, Bills, Jaguars and Vikings. He was a four-time Pro Bowl selection (1994-97), earning first-team all-Pro honors in 1995. He was the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 1996 and led the NFL in sacks that season.
- Christian Rozeboom, South Dakota State, 2015-19 – last week Rozeboom became the SDSU leader in tackles with 446 in his career, surpassing the previous record of 435 (Greg Osmundson from 1986-89). He has registered double figures in tackles in 23 of 50 career games, including four times this season. He entered this season as a three-time first-team all-league choice.
Defensive Backs
- Bryan Cox, Western Illinois, 1987-90 – Cox was one of the first stars in conference history and was a three-time all-league choice, earning first-team honors at DB in 1989 and 1990. After being drafted in the 5th round of the 1991 NFL Draft, he became a three-time Pro Bowl selection (1992, 1994, 1995) with the Miami Dolphins. He also played with the Chicago Bears, New York Jets, New England Patriots and New Orleans Saints.
- Deiondre Hall, UNI, 2012-15 – A four-year starter, Hall played in 51 games over four seasons from 2012 to 2015, amassing 13 interceptions (4 returned for touchdowns), 242 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, 3 forced fumbles, 3 sacks and 15 pass breakups. He was drafted in the 4th round of the 2016 NFL Draft – the third-highest draft position for any league defensive back.
- Rodney Harrison, Western Illinois, 1991-93 -- Harrison was a two-time first-team all-league choice for the Leathernecks (1992, 1993) and was drafted in the 5th round of the 1994 NFL Draft. He was a two-time Pro Bowl selection and named all-Pro three times. Harrison is a member of both the San Diego Chargers and New England Patriots 50th Anniversary Team and is in the Patriots' Hall of Fame.  He became the first player in NFL history with 30 sacks and 30 interceptions.
- Ty Talton, UNI, 1995-98 – Talton is one of just two players in league history to earn first-team all-league honors four-straight seasons (1995, 1996, 1997, 1998). Talton was drafted in the 5th round of the 1999 NFL Draft and played briefly with the Detroit Lions. He ranks fourth all-time in league history with 18 interceptions.
- Marcus Williams, North Dakota State, 2010-13 --Â Consensus All-American who was selected to play in the East-West Shrine Game ... Set NDSU record with 21 career interceptions and his seven interception returns for TD set an FCS record ...... NDSU career record holder for all-purpose running with a 27.4 average ... Joined the Houston Texans in May 2014 as an undrafted free agent and has spent time with the New York Jets, Arizona Cardinals, New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Chicago Bears.

Placekickers
- Travis Brawner, Missouri State, 1997-99 – after transferring from the University of Arkansas, Brawner was first-team all-league for three-straight seasons (1997, 1998, 1999), one of just two kickers to earn first-team honors three times. Two-time All-America selection, earning first-team AP and AFCA honors in 1997.
- Adam Keller, North Dakota State, 2011-14 – Graduated as NDSU's career leader in PAT kicks made (191) and attempted (198), field goals made (56) and percentage (.800) despite just three playing seasons... Made 117 consecutive extra-point kicks over his final 28 games, a streak that ranks second in MVFC history...established a league record with 29 made FGs in 2014
- Brian Mitchell, UNI, 1989-91 – first-team all-league for three-straight seasons (1989, 1990, 1991) , one of just two kickers to earn first-team honors three times. Established an NCAA record with 26-straight field goals without a miss in 1990. Ranks third all-time in league history with 59 career field goals. Two-time first-team All-America pick (1990, 1991).
- Cam Pedersen, North Dakota State, 2015-18 – was a two-time all-MVFC honoree in 2017 and 2018 .. Is the league's and NDSU record holder with 261 career PATs, which included an NCAA-record 80-straight without a miss in 2018 … ranks second all-time in MVFC history with 399 career points, which is the most of any kicker.
- Taylor Rowan, Western Illinois, 2005-08 – two-time first-team all-league pick (2007, 2008) .. holds the league record with 129-straight PATs without a miss over multiple seasons .. one of just five kickers in league history to hit two 50+ yarders in the same game. Earned 2007 All-America honors.
Punters
- Miles Bergner, South Dakota, 2013-16 – three-time all-conference selection, earning first-team honors in 2016.  As a senior, Bergner became the first player in the 32-year history of Valley football to be named both a first-team all-MVFC punter and first-team all-MVFC place-kicker. He was named the top FCS punter by all five All-America publications (AP, AFCA, Walter Camp Football Foundation, STATS, Hero Sports) his senior year
- Ryan Hoffman, Illinois State, 2002-05 – three-time all-conference selection, earning first-team honors in 2005.  Hoffman averaged 42.17 yards per punt which is Illinois State's career record by nearly a yard and a half. He also holds the ISU record for single-game punting average, notching a 53.4 yard average against Indiana State in 2004.
- Ben LeCompte, North Dakota State, 2012-15 – Two-time FCS All-American and three-time All-Missouri Valley Football Conference performer who graduated as the NDSU and MVFC career leader with a 44.55 punting average that ranked fourth in FCS history...Also the NDSU career leader in punting yards (10,158) and attempts (228). Had 14 punts of 60-plus yards including four 70-plus with a career long of 75 yards.
- Scott Ravanesi, Southern Illinois, 2006-09 – three-time first-team all-conference pick (2007-08-09).  He holds the SIU career record with a 42.56 average, which ranks fifth-best all-time in MVFC history. His 45.78 average in 2007 led the league that year and is the fourth-highest single-season average in MVFC history. His 83-yard boot against UMass in 2007 is a school record.
- Mike Scifres, Western Illinois, 1999-02 – three-time first-team all-conference pick (2000-01-02).  His 43.35 career average ranks third-best all-time in MVFC history. Scifres punted for the NFL's San Diego Chargers from 2003-15 and is a member of the Chargers 50th Anniversary Team. He set a school and what was then a conference record with an 89-yard punt against Missouri State in 2000, and Scifres also kicked a game-winning 56-yard field goal at UNI in 2000 to clinch the league title on the last day of the season.
