The Game:  The North Dakota State men's basketball team (14-13 overall, 8-5 Summit League) hosts Omaha (17-9, 11-2) in the home finale on Saturday, Feb. 23, at the Scheels Center. The Bison have won 8 of their past 11 games entering the weekend.

About Omaha: As of Thursday, Omaha is tied with South Dakota State for first place in the Summit League standings this season. The Mavericks improved to 17-9 overall and 11-2 in the league with a 77-63 home win over Western Illinois on Wednesday night.
          Senior guard Zach Jackson leads the Mavs with 18.7 points per game and 44-percent shooting from three-point range. All five Omaha starters are averaging double-digit scoring.
          Omaha ranks 10th in the nation for fewest turnovers per game at 9.9, and the Mavs are also top-30 nationally in field goal percentage (25th) and three-point percentage (7th).
 
History with Omaha: Saturday will be the 81st meeting between North Dakota State and Omaha dating back to 1935-36. NDSU has a 48-32 lead in the series. The Bison have won 6 of the 7 meetings in Fargo since Omaha's transition to Division I.
 
Last Time vs. Omaha: Mitch Hahn scored 20 points and Matt Pile added a career-high 19 to lead Omaha past North Dakota State on Jan. 2 at Baxter Arena.
          Tyson Ward led NDSU with 17 points and 8 rebounds. Rocky Kreuser and Deng Geu both scored 14 points, and Tyree Eady added 13 for the Bison.
          NDSU shot 47 percent for the game and made 13-of-26 (50 percent) from three-point range, but the Bison were outshot by Omaha. The Mavericks made 56 percent overall and 46 percent from beyond the arc.
          NDSU led 25-24 with just over eight minutes left in the first half, but Omaha exploded for a 12-0 run over the next three-plus minutes to go ahead 36-25. Leading 41-32 at halftime, the Mavericks used a 19-2 run to put the game out of reach in the second half.
 
Vin Diesel: Over the past six games, Vinnie Shahid is averaging 21.2 points and 4.2 assists, while shooting 60 percent overall and 49 percent (19-for-39) from beyond the arc. He has committed just five turnovers in that six-game stretch.

Limited Turnovers & Fouls: NDSU ranks 13th in the nation for fewest fouls committed per game (14.9) and 32nd nationally for fewest turnovers committed per game (11.1).
 
Eady Stepping Up: Redshirt freshman Tyree Eady is shooting 54 percent in league play, including 45 percent from three-point range. He ranks seventh among Summit League freshmen with 7.4 points per game in league play.
 
They Went to Jared: Junior Jared Samuelson scored a season-high 18 points on six three-pointers in NDSU's victory over Oral Roberts on Valentine's Day.
 
Quick Start: The Bison exploded out of the gates on Feb. 14, making eight three-pointers in the game's first eight minutes to go up 24-14 on Oral Roberts.
 
Winning Streak: NDSU's five-game winning streak was its first since the 2014-15 season. NDSU won five straight in Summit League play that year between Jan. 29 and Feb. 12.         
 
90 Wins: The 81-71 victory over Denver on Feb. 9 was the 90th career win for NDSU head coach David Richman. He is on pace to be the second-fastest to 100 victories in school history.

Three-dy: Redshirt freshman Tyree Eady scored a season-high 16 points on 6-for-9 shooting off the bench in NDSU's win over Denver on Feb. 9. He made a season-best four three-pointers.
 
Just A Minute: Trailing 56-55 with 6:00 remaining at UND on Feb. 6, the Bison exploded for a 10-0 run in the span of just one minute.
          Vinnie Shahid and Cameron Hunter got to the rim for back-to-back buckets, then Ward stole the ball from UND's Billy Brown as the Fighting Hawks looked to take a timeout. Ward drilled a dagger three-pointer from the corner.
          Shahid capped the 10-0 run with a three-point play, and NDSU led 65-56 with 4:59 left.
