FARGO, N.D. - The Los Angeles Chargers drafted North Dakota State quarterback Easton Stick with the 166th overall pick in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft on Saturday, April 27.
Stick is the second straight NDSU starting quarterback drafted by an NFL organization. He followed Carson Wentz, the No. 2 overall pick of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2016.
Stick was one of 13 players drafted out of the Football Championship Subdivision.
Three other undrafted NDSU players earned free-agent deals: running back Bruce Anderson and cornerback Jalen Allison with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and center Tanner Volson with the Chargers.
Bison safety Robbie Grimsley earned a rookie mini camp invite from the New Orleans Saints and wide receiver Darrius Shepherd got a camp invite from the Green Bay Packers.
North Dakota State had eight players active in the NFL last season.
