KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Skylar Ball, Carly Turner and Mya Wilson each had seven kills and combined for six blocks as Georgia Southern defeated North Dakota State 3-0 (25-17, 25-19, 25-13) in the Tennessee Classic on Friday, Sept. 20, before 118 fans in Thompson-Boling Arena.

The Bison (5-5) are scheduled to play East Tennessee State (7-2) at 9 a.m. and host Tennessee (3-4) at 6 p.m. CT on Saturday, Sept. 21 as the tournament continues.

Georgia Southern (5-4) put points together for several timely runs early to pull away from the Bison. The Eagles outhit NDSU .219 to .017, held a 7-3 advantage in team blocks, and had 6-2 edge in service aces.

North Dakota State was paced by
Kalli Hegerle, who had 12 assists, 10 digs and eight kills.
Alexis Bachmeier had 14 digs, while
Kaylee Hanger added 13 digs and a pair of service aces.

Ball hit .462, while Wilson finished at .353 and Turner at .300. Madison Brown handed out 24 assists and had three aces, while Landon Jones collected a match-high 17 digs.
