Bison Play at Nebraska Saturday, Meet No. 11 Creighton Sunday

Where to Watch: Saturday's game at Nebraska will air on the Big Ten Network at 11 a.m. Sunday's game at Creighton will be broadcast nationally on FS1 at 3:30 p.m.
 
Radio: Saturday's game will be broadcast on 107.9 The Fox, Bison1660, and 94.5 KDLB in Detroit Lakes, Minn., as well as being streamed on the 107.9 The Fox app, the Bison1660 app, and on GoBison.com/allaccess. Jeff Culhane will call the action.
 
Against the Huskers: Saturday will be only the second meeting between Nebraska and NDSU in men's basketball. The Huskers won a 32-29 shootout in Fargo on Dec. 30, 1933.
          It will be NDSU's first showdown with a Big Ten opponent since falling 80-74 at Illinois on Nov. 15, 2015.
 
Against the Bluejays: Sunday will be the 10th meeting all-time between Creighton and NDSU, with the Bluejays winning all nine previous games. The last meeting between the schools was a 65-63 Creighton victory in Omaha on Dec. 20, 1975.
          NDSU's last game against a Big East opponent was an 82-68 loss at Marquette on Dec. 20 of last season.
 
McDermott Connection: Creighton head coach Greg McDermott served as the head coach at North Dakota State for one season in 2000-01. NDSU's David Richman worked as a student assistant to McDermott before graduating from NDSU in 2002.
 
On The Glass: NDSU's forwards posted strong rebounding performances in the opening game of the season vs. Nevada. Rocky Kreuser pulled down 10 boards for his fifth career game with double-digit rebounds, and Tyler Witz grabbed a career-high seven boards.
 
Three Debuts: Three Bison freshmen made their debuts on Wednesday in the season opener vs. Nevada -- Boden Skunberg (Jamestown, N.D.), Grant Nelson (Devils Lake, N.D.) and Dezmond McKinney (Raytown, Mo.). Skunberg was the top performer, finishing with seven points, four rebounds and two assists.
 
Title Talk: NDSU has won five Summit League Tournament crowns in 12 seasons as a full member of the league -- 2009, 2014, 2015, 2019 and 2020.
 
Back for More: The Bison finished 25-8 overall and went 13-3 in The Summit League last season, winning the Summit League Tournament with an 89-53 thrashing of North Dakota in the championship game on March 10.
 
Continued Success: Head coach David Richman has led the Bison to a mark of 121-75 through six seasons at the helm of the program. NDSU has claimed two Summit League regular season titles, three Summit League Tournament titles, and three NCAA Tournament berths in his six seasons.
          The Bison are 12-3 in the Summit League Tournament under Richman.
 
20 Wins: NDSU has achieved seven 20-win seasons in its Division I era (since 2008-09). Last year was the third 20-win season under head coach David Richman, tying Saul Phillips (2007-14) for the second-most by a head coach in NDSU history. Richman also owns a pair of 19-win seasons.
 
Preseason Projections: The Bison have been picked to finish third in The Summit League this season, according to the annual preseason poll of league head coaches, sports information directors and media.
          NDSU senior forward Rocky Kreuser was voted to the preseason All-Summit League second team. Kreuser is NDSU's top returning scorer, averaging 10.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per game last year.
 
Big Shoes to Fill: The Bison graduated two of the most impactful players in school history following last season. Vinnie Shahid surpassed the 1,000-point mark in two years, becoming just the second Bison to ever score 1,000 points with only two seasons in Fargo. Tyson Ward was the only player in NDSU history with more than 1500 points, 700 rebounds and 250 assists in his career. Ward played in 129 games for the Bison.
          Jared Samuelson, now serving as a graduate manager for the Bison, wrapped up his NDSU career in March with 121 games played. He finished his career as a 43-percent shooter from beyond the arc, making 177 threes to rank 10th in school history.
 
Who's Back: The Bison return 41 percent of their minutes played and 35 percent of their scoring from last season, with senior forward Rocky Kreuser being the leading returner in both categories.
 
At The Line: NDSU ranked No. 1 in the nation in free throw percentage last season, making 79.8 percent for the year -- which surpassed the previous school-record mark of 77.7 percent set in 2018-19.
