NDSU Football 2019 National Championship Rings Revealed

FARGO, N.D. - April 24 was originally scheduled to be the final day of North Dakota State's spring football practice schedule, which consists of 15 practices culminating with an open scrimmage attended by upwards of 5,000 fans.

In recent years, that day has not only served as a glimpse ahead to the future of Bison football, but it has also been an opportunity to celebrate the past by revealing and distributing the team's NCAA Division I FCS national championship rings.

With the cancellation of the spring sports season due to the coronavirus pandemic, the NDSU football program revealed its 2019 championship ring on social media through Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. The rings are designed with input from the NDSU team captains.

The front of the ring features the number '8' to signify North Dakota State's eighth FCS national championship. The program's 16 total national championships are represented in green gems - eight on each side of the NDSU logo.

On one side, the program's ninth Missouri Valley Football Conference championship is represented. The other side features the team's 16-0 record along with the student-athlete's name and position.

Inside the ring, the saying "Right Now Means Everything" is a reminder of the team's collective mentality throughout the 2019 season to improve every day and not rely upon past successes.

North Dakota State ended the 2019 season with a 37-game winning streak, which is tied for third longest in the history of Division I football.
