NDSU No. 1 in HERO Sports Top 25; Five Bison on Preseason All-America Team

FARGO, N.D. - Coming off a third straight NCAA national championship and riding a 37-game winning streak, North Dakota State is ranked No. 1 in the HERO Sports FCS Top 25 and the Bison have five Preseason All-Americans.
NDSU sophomore quarterback Trey Lance, senior left tackle Dillon Radunz and senior right tackle Cordell Volson were named to the HERO Sports FCS Preseason All-America first team. Junior left guard Nash Jensen and junior strong safety Michael Tutsie were named to the second team.
North Dakota State returns nine starters on offense and five on defense from last year's 16-0 team that went 8-0 in the Missouri Valley Football Conference for its ninth straight league title.
Five MVFC teams were included in the HERO Sports Preseason Top 25 including No. 2 South Dakota State, No. 3 Northern Iowa, 12th-ranked Illinois State and 22nd-ranked Southern Illinois. National runner-up James Madison out of the Colonial Athletic Association is ranked fifth.
NDSU is scheduled to open the 2020 season Sept. 5 at Oregon. The home opener is slated for Sept. 12 against Drake.
