Bison Volleyball Welcomes St. Thomas and Western Illinois

THIS WEEK
The North Dakota State (9-14, 3-8 Summit) volleyball team returns to Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse this week hosting St. Thomas (2-19, 1-10 Summit) on Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. The Bison will close the week welcoming Western Illinois (3-19, 2-9 Summit) on Saturday. First serve is set for 11:00 a.m.
TICKETS
General admission tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for youth ages 3-17, and reserved tickets are $10-12 . Match day tickets are sold at the Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse and are also available at GoBison.com/tickets. Doors open one (1) hour prior to the match. Free parking is available in Visitors Lot E.
MATCH COVERAGE
This week's match against St. Thomas will feature live coverage on ABC Network WDAY Xtra. Logan Campbell will be calling the play-by-play with Emily Miron as analyst on Thursday. The match will also be available on the radio on Bison 1660 with Andy Rieckhoff calling the play-by-play. Additionally, both contests will be streamed and feature live statistics on GoBison.com
PACK IT PINK
Thursday's match against St. Thomas will also be Pack It Pink night at Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse as the Bison commemorate the match to any and all individuals affected by breast cancer and raise awareness. Special giveaways will be provided by Sanford Health.
LOOKING BACK
The Bison enter the week after dropping back-to-back matches on the road last week. NDSU fell short at Oral Roberts, 3-1, after Ali Hinze contributed a double-double with 14 kills and 10 digs. The Bison then dropped a 3-0 decision at Kansas City to close the road trip. Raegen Reilly paced NDSU registering a double-double with a team-high 34 assists to go along with 11 digs.
THE LAST TIME AT HOME
The Bison won their most recent match at home on Oct. 16 after dismantling North Dakota, 3-0. Ali Hinze (17 digs, 10 kills) and Raegen Reilly (36 assists, 13 digs) each notched a double-double to help NDSU earn its seventh straight win over UND.
90 MATCHES AND COUNTING
Kaylee Hanger continues to leave her mark in Bison history. After becoming the 26th player in program history to reach 1,000 career digs, she is now closing in on her 100th career match. She's appeared in 99 career matches over her four year career.
A DYNAMIC DUO
Ali Hinze and Syra Tanchin have emerged as two of the top offensive players in the Summit League this season. Tanchin has reached double figures in kills in each of her last five matches and has connected on a career-high 289 kills, which ranks fourth in the Summit League. Hinze has also contributed double digits in kills her last five consecutive matches and has tallied a career-high 288 kills. She's currently slotted fifth in the Summit League.
WHAT CAN'T HINZE DO?
Ali Hinze has already connected on a career-high 288 kills this season. She has also made an impact on the defensive end of the floor totaling a career-best 221 digs, which ranks second on the team. Hinze has registered a double-double in four of her last five matches.
SERVIN' UP SOME ACES
NDSU leads the Summit League in total aces and ranks 28th in the nation with 141 this season. Ava Schmoll and Ali Hinze have each contributed a team-high 23 aces.
OFFENSIVE POWER
The Bison are positioned second in the Summit League in total kills with 1,061. NDSU is one of three teams in the conference to surpass the 1,000-kill mark this season. Kansas City leads the way with 1,112, while Omaha rounds out the top three with 1,022.
THE SERIES VS. ST. THOMAS
This will mark the fourth all-time meeting dating back to 1983 with NDSU leading the series, 3-0. The Bison rolled past the Tommies in their first meeting earlier this season, 3-0, behind a match-high 13 kills from Ali Hinze.
THE SERIES VS. WESTERN ILLINOIS
This will be the 31st all-time meeting between Western Illinois and NDSU dating back to 2005 with the Bison leading the series, 25-5. NDSU has also won 15 of the last 16 meetings. Earlier this season, the Bison grinded out a 3-2 win over the Leathernecks after Syra Tanchin delivered a career-high 24 kills.
