Bison Volleyball Set for Road Test at Omaha and Denver

THIS WEEK
The North Dakota State (11-14, 5-8 Summit) volleyball team is back on the road this week facing Summit League leader Omaha (14-8, 11-1 Summit) on Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. The Bison will then take on Denver (19-3, 10-2 Summit), who currently sits in second place in the Summit League on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
LOOKING BACK
NDSU enters the week having won its last two matches. The Bison rolled past St. Thomas, 3-0, behind a season-high nine kills from Maggie Steffen. NDSU wrapped up the weekend winning the final three sets to earn the 3-1 victory over Western Illinois. Raegen Reilly (59 assists, 11 digs) and Ali Hinze (19 kills, 14 digs) each contributed a double-double for the Bison.
HANGER HITS 100
Kaylee Hanger continues to add milestones to her career this season. Following the win over St. Thomas last week, she appeared in her 100th career match. She's totaled 1,047 digs over four seasons, which ranks 22nd on the NDSU all-time list.
REILLY STEPPING UP
Raegen Reilly has settled in during her freshman season and has logged double digits in assists in her last seven matches, including a career-best 59 assists in the win over Western Illinois. She's currently positioned fifth in the Summit League and leads all freshman with 646 total assists this season.
WHAT CAN'T HINZE DO?
Ali Hinze has already connected on a career-high 316 kills this season. She has also made an impact on the defensive end of the floor totaling a career-best 244 digs, which ranks second on the team. Hinze has notched a team-high 13 double-doubles this season.
A DYNAMIC DUO
Ali Hinze and Syra Tanchin have emerged as two of the top offensive players in the Summit League this season. Tanchin has connected on a career-high 317 kills, which ranks third in the Summit League. Hinze is positioned fourth in the Summit League in total kills and has also registered a career-high 316 kills. NDSU is the only team to have two players positioned inside the top five in total kills in the Summit League.
SERVIN' UP SOME ACES
NDSU leads the Summit League in total aces and ranks 26th in the nation with 154 this season. Ava Schmoll and Ali Hinze have each contributed a team-high 25 aces.
OFFENSIVE POWER
The Bison are positioned second in the Summit League in total kills with 1,171. NDSU has connected on 60 or more kills in five matches this season, including matching a season-high 70 kills in the win over Western Illinois last week.
THE SERIES VS. OMAHA
This will be the 94th all-time meeting dating back to 1978 between Omaha and NDSU with the Mavericks leading the series, 51-42. The two teams have also met six times in the NCAA Division II Tournament, including the 1986 NCAA Final Four. Earlier this season, Omaha topped NDSU, 3-1, back on Oct. 9. Ali Hinze led the way for the Bison logging a double-double with 18 kills and 13 digs.
THE SERIES VS. DENVER
This will be the 23rd all-time meeting in a series that dates back to 1983 with Denver leading, 15-7. Earlier this season, NDSU fell short against Denver, 3-0, on Oct. 7. Kaylee Hanger led the Bison with a team-high 14 digs to help her reach the 1,000 career digs milestone.
