OMAHA, Neb. – The North Dakota State men's basketball team trailed Creighton by six points early in the second half, but the Bluejays pulled away for an 80-55 victory on Tuesday night at CHI Health Center Omaha.
The Bison fell to 4-3 on the season, while the Bluejays improved to 7-1.
Dezmond McKinney scored a career-high 13 points to lead NDSU.
Rocky Kreuser added 12 points and 7 rebounds.
Creighton led 40-32 at halftime. The Bluejays used a 10-0 run early in the second half to push the margin from 40-34 to 50-34 with 15:20 remaining.
NDSU shot 50 percent (6-of-12) from three-point range in the first half, but only made 3-of-14 after halftime. Creighton capitalized with 26 points on 17 Bison turnovers in the game.
NDSU returns home to play Northland College on Thursday night at 7 p.m.
