LAST TIME OUT
Three Bison reached double digits in scoring as North Dakota State came up short at Kansas State, 78-57, on Monday night at Bramlage Coliseum.
Heaven Hamling led the way for NDSU with a team-high 14 points and grabbed a season-best six rebounds.
Ryan Cobbins also reached double figures in points for the sixth straight game with 11 to go along with team-high seven rebounds.
Kadie Deaton, who made her fourth start of the season, added in 10 points of her own.
CONTROLLING THE BATTLE DOWN LOW
The Bison snatched a season-high 41 rebounds with nine different players collecting at least one at Kansas State.
Ryan Cobbins grabbed a team-high seven rebounds, while
Heaven Hamling,
Kadie Deaton and
Emily Behnke each added in six of their own. It marked the most rebounds in a single game for NDSU since it collected 47 at Denver last season on Jan. 22, 2021.
COLLECTING ALL THE REBOUNDS
NDSU is collecting 34.7 rebounds per game this season and is limiting its opponents to 31.5. The Bison have registered a +3.2 rebounding margin and have won the rebounding the battle in four of the first six games this season.
ONE OF THE BEST ON THE LINE
Through the first six games of the season, NDSU has proven to be one of the best free throw shooting teams in the country. The Bison have netted 108 free throws, which ranks 29th in the nation and leads the Summit League.
LINEUP ADJUSTMENTS
Abby Schulte and
Kadie Deaton both moved back into the starting lineup at Kansas State and each made their fourth start of the season. Through the first six games, NDSU has used two different starting lineup combinations.
COBBINS CONTINUES FAST START
Ryan Cobbins is averaging a team-best 14.3 points per game and has tallied double figures in scoring in all six games this season. It marks the longest double digit scoring streak of her career since the 2019-20 season when she assembled eight straight games from Jan. 16 vs. South Dakota to Feb. 9 vs. Oral Roberts.
Cobbins is shooting a team-best 53.7 percent (29-54) from the field and 64.7 percent (11-17) from three. Additionally, she is also connecting on 81.0 percent (17-21) of her free throws.
INCREASED MINUTES
Emily Behnke logged a career-high 22 minutes of action at Kansas State and contributed nine points with six rebounds and two blocks. Behnke leads the Bison in total rebounds (31), rebounds per game (5.2) and blocked shots (7).
SCOUTING BRADLEY
Bradley, who is receiving votes in the College Insiders Mid-Major Top 25 Poll, begins the weekend with a 3-2 overall record and has dropped its last two contests. Most recently, the Braves fell short at Minnesota, 73-54. Gabi Haack netted a game-high 19 points and Tatum Koenig poured in 12 of her own against the Gophers.
Bradley is slotted inside the top 20 nationally in three-point field goals per game averaging 9.2, which ranks second in The Valley and 18th in the nation. The Braves are also positioned sixth in the country in fewest turnovers with 63 this season.
THE SERIES VS. BRADLEY
This will be only the second all-time meeting between Bradley and NDSU with the Braves also making their first ever trip to Scheels Center. In their only meeting in 2019, the Braves edged the Bison, 70-64, at Renaissance Coliseum.
Emily Dietz just missed a double-double in the contest with a team-best 16 points and eight rebounds.
