MACOMB, Ill. - North Dakota State and Western Illinois split another Summit League softball doubleheader Sunday, March 28, at McKee Stadium with NDSU winning the first game 15-9 and Western Illinois taking the second game 11-3 in six innings.

Leadoff hitter Madyson Camacho was 3-for-5 with a stolen base and three runs scored in the opener for NDSU (7-17, 2-2 Summit). Avery Wysong went 2-for-4 with a double, home run and three RBIs, Montana DeCamp drove in three runs, and Cameryn Maykut hit her first collegiate home run to spark a six-run fifth inning that put the Bison ahead for good.

Western Illinois (11-15, 2-2 Summit) erased a 4-0 deficit with four runs in the first, tied the game 5-5 in the third, and answered a four-run Bison fourth inning with four runs in the bottom half to tie the game 9-9. The Leathernecks started the fifth with back-to-back walks before NDSU's Lainey Lyle retired the final nine batters in order for her second win of the year.
