NDSU Women’s Golf Opens Play at Golfweek Spring Invitational

PAWLEY'S ISLAND, S.C. – The North Dakota State women's golf team opened play Monday at the Golfweek Spring Invitational.
NDSU shot a 312 in the first round and a 316 in the second round, sitting in sixth with a 628. South Carolina Upstate has the team lead after the opening day with a 589. Delaware's Christina Carroll shot a 68 in the first round and 76 in the second round, as she holds the individual lead with a 144.
Junior Taylor McCorkle leads the scoring for the Bison, as she is tied for 13th with a 154. McCorkle shot a 76 in the first round and a 78 in the second round. McCorkle recorded a pair of birdies in each round. Senior Alexis Thomas, who shot a 79 in the first round and a 76 in the second round, is tied for 17th with a 155. Thomas recorded three birdies in two rounds. Junior Lexi Geolat is tied for 24th with a 157 after rounds of 79 and 78. Geolat had three birdies on the day.
Freshman Catherine Monty is tied for 32nd with a 162 after rounds of 78 and 84, which included three first round birdies. Sophomore Maddie Herzog rounds out the Bison lineup, as she is in 41st with a 179. Herzog shot a 95 in the first round and 84 in the second round, with a birdie coming in the first round.
The third, and final round, is scheduled to begin at 6:45 a.m. (Central) on Tuesday at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club.
