#ProBison Update: NDSU in the NFL

9/8/2021 4:25:00 PM

As Week 1 of the 2021 NFL season kicks off this week, North Dakota State continues to be the premier FCS program for producing NFL talent.

Nine former Bison football players will begin the season on active rosters, plus one signed to a practice squad. That total is the most among all Division I FCS schools.

Green Bay Packers offensive lineman Billy Turner is the veteran of the crew, as he enters his eighth professional season. Recent draft picks Trey Lance (San Francisco), Dillon Radunz (Tennessee), and Jabril Cox (Dallas) are the new additions to NDSU's professional ranks this year.

Four Bison changed teams during the offseason, headlined by the trade of Carson Wentz from Philadelphia to the Indianapolis Colts. Joe Haeg signed with Pittsburgh after winning a Super Bowl ring with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Derrek Tuszka (Steelers' practice squad) and Ben Ellefson made moves following the final cuts of the preseason, with Ellefson going to his home-state Minnesota Vikings.

Bison Nation can track former NDSU student-athletes in the professional ranks in all sports and join the conversation on social media by using the hashtag #ProBison.
