NDSU Set to Host Denver and Omaha

THIS WEEK
The North Dakota State (5-8, 1-2 Summit) women's basketball team returns to Scheels Center this week hosting Denver (5-8, 0-2 Summit) on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. The Bison will close the week against Omaha (5-7, 1-2 Summit) on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
GAME COVERAGE
Radio: Keith Brake (play-by-play) will be on the call against Denver on Bison 1660, while Brad Anderson (play-by-play) will call the game against Omaha on The City 94.5 FM. Katie Johnson will be the analyst for both games.
Watch: Both contests will be available live on WDAY Xtra. Zach Staton (play-by-play), Amy Ruley (analyst) and Logan Campbell (sideline) will be on the call. The game will also be available on ESPN+ for subscribers.

BISON QUICK HITS
North Dakota State came up short at South Dakota, 65-38, on Saturday afternoon at Sanford Coyote Sports Center. Ryan Cobbins paced the Bison with a team-high nine points and six rebounds. Reneya Hopkins contributed eight points, while Kadie Deaton hauled in a game-high eight rebounds
LOOKING BACK AT THE MONTH OF DECEMBER
NDSU went 3-3 in the month of December, including a 2-0 mark at home with wins over Bradley and Jamestown. Heaven Hamling reached double digits in scoring in five of the six games and averaged a team-high 12.8 points per game. Ryan Cobbins also hit double figures in scoring in four games and netted 12.2 points per contest over that span.
IT'S GOOD TO BE HOME
After dropping its first two home games of the season, NDSU has bounced back and won its last three games at Scheels Center. The Bison have tallied 80 or more points in each of their last three home games, including a season-high 95 in the win over Dickinson State.
Ryan Cobbins is averaging a team-high 16.0 points per game at Scheels Center this season. She has tallied double figures in scoring in all five games, including a career-high 24 points in the win over Bradley.
LINEUP ADJUSTMENTS CONTINUE
NDSU used its fifth different starting lineup combination last weekend at South Dakota State and South Dakota. Ryan Cobbins, Heaven Hamling and Emily Dietz have started all 13 games, while Reneya Hopkins has been in the lineup for the last four games. Kadie Deaton moved into the starting five last week against South Dakota State and South Dakota.
DIETZ IS MAKING HISTORY
Emily Dietz is continuing to climb up the ranks on the NDSU all-time points and rebounds list. She has now totaled 607 career rebounds, which positions her 19th in NDSU history. Dietz is only the third player in the Division I era to eclipse 600 or more rebounds. She has also totaled 991 career points and needs nine points to become the 35th player in NDSU history to reach 1,000 career points.
COBBINS REACHES 700
Ryan Cobbins has started all 13 games and is averaging a career-best 12.9 points per game this season. The Kansas City, Kan., native has hit double fiigures in scoring 10 times and totaled 168 points, which increased her career total to 713.
BEHNKE OFF THE BENCH
Emily Behnke has come off the bench in all 13 games and is logging a career-high 14.9 minutes per game. She recently played a career-high 23 minutes at South Dakota last week and chipped in six points with four rebounds.
SCOUTING DENVER
Denver begins the week with a 5-8 (0-2 Summit) overall record and has dropped its last two contests. The Pioneers didn't play last week due to COVID protocols within their program. In its most recent game back on Dec. 22, Denver dropped a 56-48 decision at St. Thomas. Uju Ezeudu tied a game-high 17 points to go along with five rebounds, three steals and two blocks for the Pioneers.
THE SERIES VS. DENVER
NDSU has won the last two meetings and leads the overall series, 13-11. In their most recent meeting last season, the Bison cruised past the Pioneers in the Summit League quarterfinals, 79-67. Heaven Hamling paced NDSU with 16 points, five rebounds and three steals. She went 4-of-5 from three point range, which was tied for the most 3-pointers in a single Summit League Tournament game in school history.
SCOUTING OMAHA
Omaha enters the week with a 5-7 (1-2 Summit) overall record and has dropped its last two games. Most recently, the Mavericks fell short at Oral Roberts, 50-45, after Josie Filer posted her first career double-double with a career-best 16 rebounds and 14 points.
THE SERIES VS. OMAHA
NDSU has won the last five meetings with Omaha and leads the all-time series, 50-19. In their most recent encounter last season, the Bison topped the Mavericks, 66-55, at Scheels Center. Heaven Hamling netted a game-high 21 points and shot 5-of-11 from behind the arc. Abby Schulte also contributed nine points with four rebounds.
