OMAHA, Neb. – Rocky Kreuser scored a season-high 25 points, and Maleeck Harden-Hayes registered his first career double-double to lead the North Dakota State men's basketball team to a 71-67 road victory over Omaha in Summit League play on Saturday afternoon.
NDSU improved to 10-5 overall and 2-1 in the league.
Both teams shot 37 percent overall for the game, but the Bison made 7-of-21 from three point range and Omaha connected on just 2-of-20 from beyond the arc.
Harden-Hayes scored 10 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. Kreuser added eight boards and drained four three-pointers in the game. NDSU's Grant Nelson chipped in seven points, seven rebounds, and four blocks.
The Bison trailed 45-39 with 12 minutes remaining when Jarius Cook and Kreuser hit back-to-back threes to tie the game. With the Bison advantage at 55-53 and five minutes left, Kreuser and Tyree Eady drained consecutive threes to put NDSU up eight.
Omaha clawed back to get within two, but the Bison led the rest of the way.
NDSU used a plus-10 rebounding margin to score 15 second-chance points.
The Bison play at Denver on Monday night, with tip scheduled for 8 p.m. CT / 7 p.m. MT.
