CHENEY, Wash. – Steele Venters scored 33 points to lead the Eastern Washington men's basketball team to a 78-70 victory over North Dakota State on Saturday afternoon at Reese Court.

NDSU led 54-53 with 8:30 remaining after
Damari Wheeler-Thomas scored 10 points in a span of less than three minutes for a 10-0 Bison run. The Eagles responded with eight straight points.

With EWU up 64-59 and just under five minutes left, the Eagles scored six straight to take control.

Wheeler-Thomas and
Jacari White both scored 14 points to lead NDSU, and
Tajavis Miller finished with 13.
Joshua Streit put up six points, five boards, two assists and two steals.

Eastern Washington shot 52 percent for the game, compared to 46 percent by the Bison. NDSU made 12-of-30 (40 percent) from three-point range, but was hurt by 17 turnovers.

NDSU fell to 1-8 on the season.
