ST. LOUIS - North Dakota State had six student-athletes named to the Missouri Valley Football Conference Scholar-Athlete Team on Tuesday, Dec. 6, as selected by the league's sports information directors.

James Kaczor was selected to the first team and defensive tackle
Will Mostaert and linebacker
Luke Weerts were named second team. Safety
Sam Jung, right guard
Jake Kubas and linebacker
Julian Wlodarczyk earned honorable mention.
Nominees must be starters or important reserves participating in at least 50 percent of their team's games, carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or better, and have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing with at least one calendar year completed at their institution. Graduate transfers in their first year are also eligible.
Kaczor, a senior from St. Cloud, Minn., maintains a 3.80 GPA in manufacturing engineering. He is NDSU's leading tackler this year with 78 total tackles and is second on the Bison with 5.5 tackles for loss and 3.0 sacks.
Mostaert, a junior from Lakeville, Minn., has a 3.75 GPA in business administration. He has 28 total tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and five quarterback hurries to his credit.
Weerts, a junior from Batavia, Ill., carries a 3.84 GPA in business administration. He has started the last four games at middle linebacker and has 46 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks in 12 games played.
All six NDSU honorees were listed on the Academic All-District Football Team selected by College Sports Communicators, formerly known as CoSIDA.
