Luepke, Mauch, Waege on HERO Sports FCS All-America Team

FARGO, N.D. - North Dakota State fullback Hunter Luepke, left tackle Cody Mauch and defensive end Spencer Waege were named to the HERO Sports FCS All-America Team announced Thursday, Dec. 8.
Luepke, a fullback from Spencer, Wis., is the fifth player in Bison history to earn All-America honors in three different seasons. The others were kicker/punter Aaron Pederson (1999-01), cornerback Marcus Williams (2011-2013), defensive end Greg Menard (2015, 2016, 2018) and right tackle Cordell Volson (2019-21).
Luepke was a first team All-American in 2020 and 2021 as selected by Stats Perform and Phil Steele, and he was first team by HERO Sports in 2021. Mauch is a two-time All-American earning second team honors from the Associated Press and third team from HERO Sports in 2021. Waege is a two-time All-American with second team honors from the AFCA and third team from Phil Steele in 2020-21.
All three Bison honorees were previously named to the All-Missouri Valley Football Conference first team.
No. 3 seed North Dakota State (10-2) is scheduled host sixth-seeded Southern Conference champion Samford (11-1) in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division I Football Championship at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, at Gate City Bank Field at the Fargodome. Tickets are available at GoBison.com/tickets.
