PHOENIX, Ariz. – The North Dakota State men's golf team closed out the GCU Invitational with a 20th place finish on Tuesday at the GCU Championship Golf Course.
The Bison resumed the second round Tuesday morning after it was suspended due to darkness Monday night.
Nate Adams closed out the second round by posting a season best round of 66. The round included six birdies, including one on his final hole of the round.
After finishing the second, Adams shot a 75 to close the tournament and finish in second for the Bison. Adams finished the two-day event tied for 80th at +8.
Jack Johnson led the way for the Bison in the three-round tournament, finishing at +6 for the event after a +3 round of 74 on the par-71 course. Johnson closed out round two to begin the morning with pars to finish the suspended round with a 72. Johnson finished in a tie for 68th overall.
One shot behind Adams for the tournament was
Nate Deziel, who closed out the event with a 74 in the final round. Adams closed out the second round with a 76 prior to the third round and finished at +9 overall for a tie of 86th.
Ian Simonich had the best round for the Bison in the final round, firing 16 pars and a birdie to finish at even par. Siminoich finished in a tie with fellow Bison
Brock Winter for 98th overall at +12 for the event.
The Bison will have a week off before returning to action on March 28-30 at the Golfweek 'Any Given Tuesday' Intercollegiate event hosted at the True Blue Golf Club in Pawleys Island, South Carolina.
