NDSU Men Perform Well in Jumps, Hammer Throw at Pair of Meets Saturday

RALEIGH, N.C. – The throwers of the North Dakota State men's track & field team concluded their season-opening outdoor meet with strong performances in the hammer throw at the Raleigh Relays on Saturday.
NDSU senior Trevor Otterdahl posted the second-best hammer throw mark of his career, 211-4 (64.42m) for third place in the meet. He ranks among the top 25 performers in the NCAA this season.
Tristan Bush also registered the second-best hammer throw of his career, throwing 192-0 (58.52m).
At the Yellow Jacket Spring Open in Spearfish, S.D., the Bison men won three event titles in the jumps. NDSU freshman Braden Brown won the high jump, clearing 6-06.75 (2.00m). Hunter Merkley won the long jump with a mark of 22-08.00 (6.91m), and Jacob Van Dusseldorp cleared 15-01.75 (4.62m) to win the pole vault.
Josh Darwin also took third in the high jump at 6-06.75 (2.00m).
