SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The North Dakota State men's basketball team battled back to take a 61-60 lead with three minutes left, but South Dakota State prevailed 75-69 in the championship game of the Summit League Tournament on Tuesday night.

NDSU fell to 23-10 on the season. This was the eighth championship game berth in 10 years for the Bison, and the fourth consecutive title game appearance.

Sam Griesel led NDSU with 24 points, eight rebounds, and five assists.
Jarius Cook added 13 points for the Bison, and
Grant Nelson finished with 11 points and eight boards.

The Bison trailed 53-46 with 8:45 remaining, but a 7-0 NDSU run capped by a Griesel three-pointer tied the contest at 53-53. After South Dakota State regained the lead, Griesel hit another three-pointer with 3:05 left to put NDSU on top, 61-60.

The Jackrabbits scored the next five points and held on for the victory. SDSU made seven free throws in the final 30 seconds.

NDSU shot 47 percent and limited the Jackrabbits to 44-percent shooting, but SDSU capitalized with 10 second-chance points.

Griesel and Nelson were named to the All-Tournament Team.
