BISMARCK, N.D. – The North Dakota State men's track & field team stayed in-state on Saturday, competing at the University of Mary's Al Bortke Open in Bismarck.

Bison freshman
Kaden Pastian (Hillsboro, N.D.) threw a personal-best 182-1 (55.50m) to win the discus, moving up to third all-time at NDSU in the event.
Trevor Otterdahl registered a career-best discus throw of 181-5 (55.30m), ranking fourth in school history.

They both now stand among the top 50 performers in the NCAA this season.

A pair of NDSU freshmen from Bismarck swept the titles in the hurdles on Saturday.
Brock Johnsen took first place in the 110m hurdles, running 14.94 for the win, and
Cullen Curl won the 400m hurdles in 55.58.

Jack Christl won the 100m dash in 10.69 – the fastest time by a Bison this season.

Otterdahl won the hammer throw with a mark of 206-4 (62.90m), and Bismarck Century product
Levi Rockey threw a career-best 185-10 (56.64m) for second place in the hammer.

Rockey also won the shot put with an outdoor personal-best of 57-1 (17.40m).

Sophomore
Hunter Merkley won the long jump with a mark of 22-06.25 (6.86m).
Koate Deebom took first in the triple jump, leaping 44-08.75 (13.63m).

Jens Christensen and
Jacob Van Dusseldorp both cleared 15-01.75 (4.62m) in the pole vault, with Christensen winning the meet and Van Dusseldorp taking second.

Drake Daniels was second in the 110m hurdles in 15.08.
