McGlynn, Olson Named Academic All-Americans

North Dakota State University men's track & field athletes Zach McGlynn and Paul Olson were named to the CSC Academic All-America team for Division I, the College Sports Communicators announced Tuesday, July 14.
McGlynn was named to the Academic All-America first team, while Olson was selected to the second team.
The NDSU men's track & field program has now claimed 20 Academic All-America honors since the school's Division I transition.
McGlynn (Stephen, Minn.) earned a degree in agricultural economics with a 4.0 GPA and is pursuing an MBA with a 4.0 as well. He was named the NCAA Elite Scholar-Athlete at the NCAA Indoor Championships this season, where he placed seventh in the heptathlon. McGlynn took 14th in the decathlon at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
McGlynn was named the 2026 Summit League Indoor Field Athlete of the Year and the Most Outstanding Performer of the Summit League Outdoor Championships. He set new school records in both the heptathlon and decathlon.
Olson (Oxbow, N.D.) posted a 4.0 GPA to earn his degree in management information systems and now owns a 4.0 toward an MBA. He was named the NCAA Elite Scholar-Athlete at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, where he finished 18th in the decathlon.
Olson captured the Summit League heptathlon title indoors and finished the season ranked third in school history for the heptathlon and fourth in the decathlon.
