Deziel Selected to Stockton Regional for NCAA Tournament

FARGO, N.D. – North Dakota State men's golfer Nate Deziel was selected to play in the NCAA Stockton Regional on May 15-18 at The Reserve at Spanos Park in Stockton, California, announced the NCAA during the NCAA D1 Men's Golf NCAA Championship Selection Show.

Deziel advances to the NCAA National Tournament for the first time in his career after earning an automatic bid by winning The Summit League Championship by five shots earlier this week.

It is just the second appearance for NDSU men's golf in the NCAA Tournament in the Division I era. The Bison also made a team appearance in the Stockton Regional in 2018.

Deziel is one of 450 players that will compete in six different regionals that will be hosted in California, Connecticut, Florida, Ohio, Oklahoma, and Texas. There will be 75 golfers at each regional. The top five teams and the top individual not on the qualifying teams at each regional will advance to the NCAA Golf Championships at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona on May 27-June 1.

Deziel became the first-ever Bison individual champion at The Summit League Men's Golf Championship on Tuesday, May 3, as he set a tournament record with a -13 score over three days at the Sand Creek Station Golf Club in Newton, Kansas.
