Houston Paces NDSU Women at Roy Griak Invitational

FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. – Bison junior Kaleesa Houston led the North Dakota State women's cross country team at the Roy Griak Invitational on Friday morning, taking 58th place overall.
 
Houston finished in 22:00.6 for the six-kilometer race – her best time ever at the Griak, and the earliest in a season that she has ever clocked 22 minutes or under for the 6k.
 
The Bison women came in 13th in the team standings and were the No. 2 team from The Summit League. Behind Houston, NDSU sophomore Grace Link was 80th in 22:20.0, and sophomore Allie Wahlund took 91st in 22:31.7.
 
Bison junior Alexis Roehl recorded a personal-best time for the 6k, finishing in 22:42.5 for 98th place. Erin Valgardson completed the team scoring in 23:08.4 for 117th place.
 
Making her collegiate debut, freshman Aleah Miller ran 23:20.5 for 126th place as NDSU's No. 6 finisher.
 
Utah won the women's team title with 85 points. The Bison finished with 398 points – just nine points behind Summit League favorite South Dakota State for 11th place in the meet.
