Bison Men Win Five Events at South Dakota State Saturday

BROOKINGS, S.D. – The North Dakota State men's track & field team won five events at South Dakota State's Jim Emmerich Alumni Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
Bison senior Josh Knutson claimed the 400m dash title, winning in a time of 47.85. Senior Jacob Rodin won the 800m in 1:49.83.
Senior Brandon Lewis won the long jump with a mark of 23-02.50 (7.07m).
Unattached Bison grad Trevor Otterdahl won both the weight throw and the shot put, and his NDSU teammates claimed the top marks by collegiate athletes. Otterdahl won the weight throw with a toss of 72-07.75 (22.14m). NDSU redshirt freshman Kaden Pastian was the top collegian at 64-02.50 (19.57m).
Otterdahl threw 61-01.25 (18.62m) for first in the shot put. NDSU's Cam Landis was the top collegian at 59-02.25 (18.04m). Clayton Hannula registered an indoor shot put personal-best of 58-06.00 (17.83m) to rank 11th in NDSU history.
Symon Keiser ran a personal-best 4:07.77 in the mile, placing fourth among collegiate athletes in the meet. He is now seventh-fastest in NDSU history in the event.
Bison freshman Jarod White took runner-up honors in the pole vault, clearing 16-02.75 (4.95m), and fellow freshman Travis Reighard cleared 15-9 (4.80m) for sixth place.
Freshman Blake Nyenati clocked 8.10 in the 60m hurdles to take third place. Logan Mathieu was fourth in 8.13.
Junior Hunter Klimek clocked a personal-best 4:12.87 in the mile. Keiser Freetly took seventh in the 800m in 1:53.32.
Unattached Bison Jacob Knodle ran a personal-best 8:23.12 to be the top NDSU finisher in the 3000m.
