Nelson’s Career-High 36 Lift Bison to 91-75 Win over UND

FARGO, N.D. – North Dakota State's Grant Nelson scored a career-high 36 points to power the Bison men's basketball team to a 91-75 victory over North Dakota on Friday night inside the Scheels Center.
Nelson poured in 24 points on 9-for-12 shooting in the first half alone. The Devils Lake, N.D., product finished with seven rebounds and three blocks.
The Bison improved to 16-6 in 22 games against the Fighting Hawks in the Division I era. NDSU has now won 10 of the last 12 in the series.
Boden Skunberg added 17 points and seven rebounds for NDSU, Tajavis Miller scored 10, and Lance Waddles and Damari Wheeler-Thomas both scored nine. NDSU sophomore forward Joshua Streit recorded six points and eight rebounds, leading the Bison on the glass.
The Bison shot a season-best 55.4 percent for the game and committed only four turnovers. NDSU led 53-46 at halftime before scoring the first eight points of the second half to go ahead by 15 at 61-46.
The Bison (6-4 Summit League) led by as many as 20 points in the second half.
NDSU goes on the road next week to play at South Dakota on Feb. 2 and at South Dakota State on Feb. 4.
