LIBERTYVILLE, Ill. – The North Dakota State women's golf team finished with three golfers inside the top 10 to earn its second win of the fall at the Loyola Parkinson Family Invitational on Tuesday afternoon at Merit Club.
The Bison put together rounds of 304, 299 and 311 for a 54-hole total of 914 to win the 12-team tournament. California Baptist (308-298-310—916) was two strokes back in second place, while UIC (304-315-299--918) and Bowling Green (313-302-303--918) finished tied for third place.
Elise Hoven (73-77-76--226) moved up one spot after carding a +4 in the final round with three birdies and finished tied for fifth place.
Madi Hicks (79-70-77--226) also finished tied for fifth place going +5 on the par 72 course in round three.
Leah Skaar (74-80-76--230) cracked the top 10 for the second time this season tied for ninth place after recording a +4 finish in the third round.
Catherine Monty (79-75-82--236) notched a tied for 23rd place finish and
Norah Roberts (78-77-83--238) posted a tied for 29th place finish.
Cora Larson (80-78-78--236) finished tied for 23rd place and
Jo Baranczyk (81-78-83--242) came in tied for 42nd place.
Ava Wallerich (85-81-80--246) rounded out the group of individuals tied for 52nd place.
As a team, the Bison led the tournament with 152 total pars and 33 birdies. The average score over three rounds of play was 80.8.
NDSU will be back in action on Feb. 12-14 at the Mountain Classic Match Play in Palm Desert, Calif.
