BOZEMAN, Mont. – The North Dakota State women's golf team sits in sixth place after the first two rounds of play at the Yellowstone Intercollegiate at the Riverside Country Club on Monday.
Norah Roberts (73-70—143) led the Bison after the first 36-holes of the event. Roberts carded two birdies and 13 holes at par in the first round to finish +1. Roberts then fired six more birdies in the second round to finish -2 and sits in a tie for eighth at -1 overall.
Madi Hicks (74-74—148) sits in 25th in the 66-golfer field at +4. Hicks shot back-to-back rounds of +2, notching three birdies in the first and 14 holes at par in the second.
Avery Bartels (73-76—149) and
Cora Larson (72-78—150) are just behind Hicks. Bartels fired four birdies in the back nine of the first round to finish +1, and then three more birdies in the second to finish +4 and sits in a tie for 26th at +5. Larson was even in the first round, firing four birdies and 10 holes at par. She then shot 13 more holes at par in the second to finish +6 and ended the first 36-holes in a tie for 30th at +6 overall.
Lily Vincelli (77-76—153) wrapped up the competing Bison and is in a tie for 39th at +9. Vincelli had 21 holes at par between the two rounds and tallied four birdies on the day.
As a team, the Bison (292-296—588) sit in sixth place in the 11-team field at +12 overall. Montana State (282-285—567) has an eight-stroke advantage on the tournament after recording -9 after the first two rounds. CSU Northridge (289-286—575) is in second place at -1 overall, and Gonzaga (288-289—577) is in third at +1.
